There are primarily three types of mesothelioma: epithelioid mesothelioma, biphasic mesothelioma, and sarcomatoid mesothelioma. The most common type is epithelioid, which constitutes approximately 60% of all mesothelioma cases and also has the highest survival rate. The second most common type is biphasic (also known as mixed), which makes up 30% of all cases, and is a combination of epithelioid mesothelioma and the least common mesothelioma type is called sarcomatoid (also known as wild type), which makes up the remaining 10% of cases.
